Attractel launches stable versions of Zoiper for Mac OS X and Linux

Attractel Ltd. today announced the newest releases of its multi-platform Zoiper IAX and SIP softphone: Zoiper 2.11 for Windows, Zoiper 2.01 for Mac OS X and Zoiper 2.01 for Linux.

The Mac and Linux versions are upgraded from beta to stable. The features of both versions are pretty similar to the features of the Windows version that Zoiper users are accustomed to. Some of the more important Biz features include: Native conferencing; Multilanguage support; TCP/TLS support with SIP; Multi-codec support - G.729 (optional), GSM, ulaw, alaw, speex, ilbc; Automatic provisioning (XML); Thunderbird integration, Attended transfer; Command line dialing; Call recording; Echo cancellation; STUN support; Outband DTMF tones; More.

The new release of Zoiper for Windows is 2.11. This version includes some fixes and changes, plus various additions, the most important of which are: SIP INFO DTMF-relay support, remote transfer request confirmation and automation, SIP automatic reregistering on timeout, and support for late media negotiation (SIP). Zoiper users are advised to upgrade to the new version.

Zoiper is a multi-platform, multi-codec IAX and SIP softphone, compatible with Asterisk or any SIP-capable IP-based communications systems and infrastructure. It is available in Free and Biz editions:

Zoiper Free is a freely downloadable application that offers custom features to provide basic VoIP functionalities. The latest release can be downloaded from www.zoiper.com.

Zoiper Biz is a professional softphone application with a variety of advanced features, the more important of which include: TCP/TLS support with SIP, Automatic provisioning (XML), URL handling, Outlook Integration, Native conferencing, API, Attended transfer, Changeable number of lines, and more. Zoiper Biz also comes with support for the g.729 codec (optional).

Both Zoiper Free and Biz editions are available for customization: either basic or complete. The basic customization includes change of brand name, logo and colors of Zoiper, and there is the option for additional development. The complete customization package offers change of the entire appearance.
